Pay-offs Part 2: Why is this important?

Ok so pay-offs are major because not only are they just little ego-goodies, but they actually have us CREATE negative scenarios in our lives. They have us get sick, they have us put ourselves in crappy relationships (or make the relationships crappy), they have us treat ourselves poorly, etc.

But the real dig is that, they get us HOOKED on our insecurities. We are literally addicted to feeling insecure (or afraid, or mad, or defeated, etc) because we get this payoff. Just like we can get addicted to alcohol or drugs because of the “high”, even though we KNOW there’s an equally intense “down”, pay-offs are like our high.

You can imagine this creates a less-than-ideal version of self.

Listen up.

Alright so now, get real. When do you use your negative circumstances to be right? Or to win an argument? Or to get validation? Or to avoid punishment?

If you didn’t find anything….you’re not looking yet. THIS IS EVERYWHERE.

Good luck ;)
